SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS
Ms. S. Darshini I BBA received the Best player award in the District level for the year 2008-2009. Our athletes proved their excellence in the Roto 2009 District level atheletic meet organized by the Rotaric Club of Sivakasi. They bagged many medals and overall Runner up shield on 26^th July’09. Ms.A. Monisha & N. Girija won the third & fourth places in the District level carrom tournament on 2^nd August’09. Our basket ball team won the fourth place in Madurai Kamaraj University Inter Collegiate basket ball Tournament on 12^th August’09. Ms.G. Vidya won the third place in 50 Mts free style swimming in the Madurai Kamaraj University Inter Collegiate Swimming Tournament on 7^th August’09. Our players attended the Block level competitions held at ANJA College, Sivakasi and bagged the overall championship shield on 27^th August’09. We won the second place in the District level volleyball tournament organized by Arasan G Vijayakumar Volleyball Academy on 18^th Sep’09. Our Kho-Kho team won the third place in Madurai Kamaraj University Inter Collegiate Kho-Kho Tournament on. 17^th & 18^th Sep’09. We won the second place in the District level volleyball tournament organized by SRD Volleyball Club P. Pudupatti on 1st Oct’09. Our Badminton team won the third place in Madurai Kamaraj University Inter Collegiate Badminton Tournament on. 7^th & 8^th Oct’09. Our ball badminton team participated in the state level tournament at T.Kallupatti on 19^th Dec’09. Our ball badminton team secured the runner-up shield in the Inter-District competition held at Bodi. on 24^th Jan 2010. Our valley ball and basket ball badminton secured the 2^nd place in the District level competition held at MEPCO Schlenk Engineering College on 25^th Jan’10 and our athletic team secured the overall championship. Our University Blues for the year 2009-10 are B. Dhivya II MA English, S. Mariselvi II BA History G. Vidya II M.Sc Chemistry A. Thirumagal II M.Sc Maths V. Indra Priyadharshini II MA English Ms. A. Thirumagal II M.Sc Maths received the Best player award in the Inter district level ball badminton Tournament held at Bodi on 24^th Jan 2010. G. Vidhya II M.Sc., Chemistry was awarded the award by the Rotary club of Sivakasi Central for excelling in sports. Ms.S. Darshini, I BBA received the “Best Player Award” at District Level from our District Collector, Mrs.Siji Thomos Vaidyan on the Republic Day Celebration. Our Badminton team won the I Place in the M.K.U. Intercollegiate Badminton Tournament and received Sun Arc Aluminium Industries, Sivakasi rolling shield for the second time. S. Darshini of II B.B.A has secured the I Place in the State Level Badminton Tournament organized by the Tamil Nadu Badminton Association at Madurai. She has selected to represent our Tamil Nadu State in the All India South Zone Badminton Championship. Our Kho-Kho Team participated and won the III Place in the M.K.U. Intercollegiate Kho-Kho Tournament at Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. H. Moniha, I B.Sc(Physics) participated in the National Level Takewando championship 2010 at Hindustan University, Chennai and secured the Gold Medal in Senior Section. V. Indra Priyadarshini, M.Phil (English) was selected as the Best Ball Badminton Player in the State Level Ball Badminton Tournament, Tirupur. G. Vidhya II M.Sc (Chemistry) was awarded – 2010 by Rotary Club of Sivakasi, Central. V.Padma Priya of II B.C.A was awarded NSS “Best NSS Volunteer Award” on 16.06.08. K.Jothimani ,B.Sc.I.T,S.Venkitalakshmi B.Com(b) SF and Priya PG Human Rights have received a Best Senior Cadets Award in Combined Annual Training Camp at NMS Sermathai Vasan College, Madurai (2010 – 2011) S. Lakshmipriya of DFD has selected to participate in the State Level Athletic Meet in Javelin at Chennai Nehru Stadium from 11.10.11 to 14.10.11. She has secured III Place in the State Level.
